design

Web design and digital design has been something I’ve been doing since I was a kid, but it is fairly recently that I got back into it. Gone are the days of Geocities and Jasc Paint Shop Pro, now have begun the days of php, css, svgs, and InDesign.

My first foray into the Bootstrap framework. I really like it but I have recently started to experiment with different js frameworks. The Web Experience Toolkit from Industry Canada is an accessible alternative. I also like Materialize because it has a simple css grid layout and is simpler to layer div’s.

ECS Employee Recognition Certificate

print design

This is a certificate I designed for the City of Toronto’s Engineering and Construction Services. I had been doing research about the origins of many of the turn-of-the-century cast iron watermains that were being replaced that summer. The photos I found were the basis for this classic certificate design.

ECS Thank You Card

print design

This is a thank you card I designed for the City of Toronto’s Engineering and Construction Services. I had spent many hours simplifying engineering drawings for diagrams to be placed on consultation materials with the public. That was the basis for this design.

ECS Infographic

digital design

This is an infographic about right-of-way I designed for the City of Toronto’s Engineering and Construction Services. It is hard to explain to people how much of their yard is actually public property. So this infographic was a useful way to illustrate what part of your yard will be dug up when underground work is done.
